Conference To Have Travis Walton

Conference To Have Travis Walton

The Travis Walton UFO abduction case is considered by most UFO researchers as genuine. In brief, Travis Walton claimed that in 1975, while working with a logging crew in Arizona he was abducted by a UFO. Travis vanished for five days before reappearing again.

The Travis Walton adoption case has garnered great mainstream publicity and is among one of the best-known instances of alleged alien abduction.

Personally I find Travis to be a very nice low key kind of guy, with a very interesting story to tell. Whether this incident really happened or not, Travis does appear to be sincere.

Travis Walton is scheduled to appear at “UFO Abductions Unveiled” at a daylong gathering at Southwest Tennessee Community College.
Walton claims to have been taken for five days from the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.

Moon Dog

Towards the end of last year, up in the skies above Scotland, an unusual unidentified flying object was witnessed by multiple people in Angus. A barrage of people witnessed what was described as a white light on December 29 at about 2 PM before mysteriously disappearing minutes later. It had many folks asking are ufos real.

It was described as being white in color and either a disk or wedge shaped in appearance. A barrel full of possible explanations had been hypothesized, everything from UFOs, lens flare, defective camera equipment, weird cloud formations to top-secret military fighter planes.

Well, the verdict is in. After considerable investigation, the British UFO research Association has identified the object as a moon dog. A moon dog is actually a type of ice cloud which is hardly ever seen.

Chairman Matt Lyons said: ”The sun setting and position of the moon at the time helped cause more illumination of ice crystals which are generally around in the higher part of the atmosphere, about the same height as air planes cruise at, around the 25-30,000 foot level.

”The official name for a moon dog is a paraselene if seen at 22 degrees. If the image is at 90, 120 or 140 degrees then it’s known as a parantiselene.”

Matt also mentioned that this was undoubtedly one of nature’s most rarest and beautiful sights and shapes in the sky.

A bright light recorded by a police dashboard camera, and witnessed in Texas, parts of Oklahoma and Kansas has people asking the question; are UFOs real. The bright light was first witnessed about eight o’clock yesterday night. It was described as being bright greenish blue in color and spherical in appearance.

The Police Department was flooded with phone calls soon afterwards; people thought it was a plane on fire or even a UFO. Technically speaking, it was a UFO because UFO means an unidentified flying object.

Thankfully there were no reports of damage due to the flying object. According to the FAA, since it was witnessed by a large number of people across many miles makes it most likely to be a meteor or some type of space junk, however it’s mostly believed to be a meteor.

According to a report released in September by NASA, the amount of space junk orbiting Earth has reached a critical point. Since Sputnik one was launched, mankind has littered space profusely with estimates of tens of millions of floating debris.

The debris consists of old rockets, satellites, and various shrapnel traveling at speeds of up to 22,000 mph. Of close there is a small contingent of UFO hunters and conspiracists who believe this is a UFO and is just being covered up as usual by the government.

The sighting occurred on the ninth anniversary of the space shuttle Columbia falling to earth over east Texas.

Phoenix Lights

On a clear spring evening on the 13th of March 1997 an incident in the sky over the American states of Arizona and Nevada, and the Mexican state of Sonora, gave rise to the phenomenon known as the ‘Phoenix Lights’ or ‘Lights over Phoenix’.  There was a lot of interest in the night sky that evening because Comet Hale-Bopp was expected to be visible to the naked eye.

However, star gazers witnessed a much more unusual event, a series of strange lights and unexplained shapes appeared in the clear evening sky.  From between 19:30 and 22:30 MST hundreds of reports were made to Police and Luke Air Force Base, describing unusual night illuminations across a 300 mile stretch between the Nevada state line, through to Phoenix and to the edge of Tucson.

The incident had two distinct events; a series of stationary lights were reported in the Phoenix area, as well as a large triangular light formation that moved across the sky.  The moving lights were described in various colors from bright red-orange, to amber, yellow and white.  They were arranged in a boomerang or V formation.  These lights were reported to move in unison, as if they were connected, and there appeared to be a solid structure encasing the lights because the immediate sky surrounding the object was blacked out.  Stationary lights were also reported to ‘hover’ for several hours before vanishing.  However, air-traffic controllers didn’t register any of the strange objects on their radar.  On February 6th 2007, a second incident of these strange lights was reported and on April 21, 2008 a third similar event was reported, all within the same geographical location.

Unfortunately documented photographic evidence of the first appearance of the Phoenix Lights is limited to a few images.  However, during the second incident in 2007, numerous still photographs and video images were collected.  These images clear show some form of craft moving across the night sky.

The Phoenix Lights have generated a range of conflicting explanations.  The V shaped formation has been explained as airplane lights.  Proponents argue that the lights observed on video tapes do not move as a single object, but are instead separate entities, often viewed as one due to illusory contours that force the human eye to view unconnected lines or dots as a single shape.  However, there were no known military or civilian aircraft formations flying in that location during the times the crafts were viewed.  The hovering stationary lights have been explained by American Air Force officials as slow-falling, long burning flares dropped during a series of training exercises at the Luke Air Force Base.  However, this explanation is also flawed as the timing of the fly-overs and subsequent flare drops doesn’t explain the earlier sightings, some of which occurred during daylight.

What also makes the Phoenix Lights incident bizarre was the lack of response from government officials.  Many citizens were alarmed by the events and demanded some type of immediate explanation.  However, it was only three months later following significant public pressure that a full investigation was announced.  Despite this investigation, there still lacks an adequate explanation that can fully account for the all the events associated with the Phoenix Lights.  Whether it was a result of some type of secret military training exercise or extraterrestrial visitors remains a mystery. Are ufos real, you decide.

Unidentified Flying Objects

Unidentified Flying Objects

UFO stands for unidentified flying object. A UFO is an object that is sighted in the sky that appears to be abnormal, unusual and cannot be identified as a recognizable object by the observer.

A UFO can be anything that is readily unidentifiable. UFOs are objects that tend to have characteristic and qualities that are unfamiliar and remarkable. They may come in unusual shapes and possess incredible speed, bright light and are able move with agility. Many objects reported as UFOs in the first instance turn out to be identifiable objects, but there are reported sightings of UFOs that are indeed objects that cannot be identified.

The actual term ‘UFO’ is quite new and was first used in 1952 to describe these objects sighted in the sky. Often they have been termed ‘flying saucers’ or ‘flying disks’, due to the appearance of some sighted UFOS,  and alien spacecraft, because of their qualities that make them appear not to be from Earth. Back in the late 19th century and early 20th century sightings of UFOs were reported as ‘mystery airships’, and during World War II the term ‘foo fighters’ was used to describe UFOs by American fighter pilots.

Each year, there are many UFO sightings. The first most publicized sighting of a UFO happened in the United States in 1947 and was reported by Kenneth Arnold, a private pilot. In fact, it was from this incident that the terms ‘flying saucer’ came to the fore to describe UFOs. Many of reported UFO sightings turned out to be mistaken and they turn out to be a man-made object or a natural phenomenon. They turn out to be aircraft, balloons, and different types of clouds, light phenomena like mirages, meteors, comets and planets viewed from afar in the sky. Some UFO sightings can also be the result of hoaxes.

However, there are a small yet still significant number of UFO sightings that have not been explained, and are indeed reports of Unidentified Flying Objects. There at about 5 to 20 per cent of sightings reported that are yet unexplained. Many reports of sightings are from trained observers including pilots and military personnel.  The number of UFO sightings has reportedly been on the ride during recent years, with about 500 sightings being reported each month.

UFOs are generally believed to be objects that are extra-terrestrial in origin. In other words, UFOs are said to be alien spacecraft.  This is because the objects that are sighted as UFOs display unconventional technological characteristics, including the object’s flying qualities and appearance, which neither belongs to a natural phenomenon or human invention. For this reason it is believed that UFOs are not objects from Earth, but rather, from outer space.

Apart from the extra-terrestrial hypothesis on UFOs, there have been other hypotheses including the inter-dimensional hypothesis which claims that UFOs are objects that have crossed over from other dimensions or a parallel universe. There is also the psychosocial hypothesis which accounts for UFO sightings as the result of misinterpretation due to popular culture influences. Another hypothesis is that UFOs are advanced or experimental military aircraft that possess the unique characteristics ascribed to such sightings.
