Checklist for UFO Watchers

Checklist for UFO Watchers

Checklist for UFO Watchers

There is a very interesting post on the blog listed below for people who are interested in UFOs or are amateur UFO hunters. Listed are several checkpoints for people who believe they have witnessed a UFO sighting.

The checklist helps people who may have had UFO sightings decide if they have witnessed a genuine UFO sighting or some other type of object in the sky. Often times, people mistake unintentionally objects such as planets, stars balloons and even satellites for UFOs.

The checklist, offers a comprehensive way of helping individuals decide whether it is a UFO or something more down to earth.

“So you see an odd object in the sky. You think “UFO!”. Not so fast.
What you’re seeing may be something completely mundane. Many times Planets, stars, satellites, balloons (weather and hot air), and other things are regularly mistaken for UFO’s. Only if you eliminate all mundane possibilities can an object truly be called a UFO.”

Are UFOS And Aliens Real

Are UFOS And Aliens Real

The question; are UFOs and aliens real, is certainly quite challenging and subjective question to reply to. According to exactly what side of the fence you are in, you may either be a believer, nonbeliever or someplace in between.

Traditionally speaking, anybody who believes in UFOs believes aliens/extraterrestrials are their passengers as well as aviators. A long time ago it was more clear-cut; there were clearly the believers along with nonbelievers. However, these days, a greater part of the general public have grown to be believers or somewhere in between.

Everyone from the common person, commercial and private aviators, medical professionals, attorneys, famous personalities, scientists to military officials have come out in favor of UFOs. Belief in UFOs and aliens are on the rise in the United States of America and around the world. People are reporting UFO sightings like never before and are demanding answers from their government representatives.

The United States still refuses to take into consideration UFOs or even their presence, however throughout the world; a growing number of governments are releasing classified documents and speaking about UFOs occurrences with the open public. Will the United States ultimately give in to the pressure or will they hold steady and reject disclosure.

As the years go by, one after the other the evidence for the existence of UFOs is growing. Undoubtedly that a variety of natural occurrences are accountable for a sizable percentage of UFO sightings but not all of them. There are a small yet noteworthy number of instances which just cannot be explained for; it is this small yet highly significant number which continues to fuel the fire.

It’s this small yet significant number of occurrences that will sooner or later either substantiate or disprove that UFOs are legitimate and that we are being frequented by aliens. Are UFOs real; only time will tell.

UFO Hunters

UFO Hunters

UFO Hunters

UFO hunters share the common objective of personally witnessing an UFO event, and just watching pictures or videos of possible UFOs taken by others does not raise their adrenaline levels.

However, UFO hunters need to thoroughly dedicate themselves to this pursuit, as UFO hunting can become quite expensive and time consuming. There are requirements to be met and violation will most likely shorten the UFO hunting career.

The first step is extensive research into all facets related to the subject, such as meteorology, reading star maps, or committing constellations and planets to memory, and familiarity with all aircraft types is also imperative. A sound financial foundation is a prerequisite to undertaking UFO hunting, since the equipment required to perform the task can be economically draining. Emotional issues also cannot be ignored as long hours are the norm and relationships can easily be strained. More often than not, the comforts of home will furthermore have to be forgotten, and outdoors types are usually more suitable for this endeavor.

Honing observation skills is a step that needs to be undertaken by all UFO hunters, a common mistake being to mistake a star for an UFO. To that purpose, it has been recommended that training as a weather spotter will be highly useful, as is joining the Civil Air Patrol, as you will learn about abnormal weather phenomena and the proper identification of configuration of various types of aircraft, along with improving observation skills.

Some Recommended equipment:

* Telescope* Binoculars * Video Camera * Maps * Star charts * Night vision equipment * Thermal imaging machines * Recording equipment

UFO hunters also take star gazing very seriously, as a high proportion of UFO sightings tend to occur after sunset. Of course, getting into the habit of looking up into the sky periodically during the day will help spot daytime occurrences.

Two main types of UFO sightings:

* Waves: small number of UFOs appearing over an extended period of time, sometimes lasting over several months. Prior to a wave, certain indicators will help determine future UFO activity.

* Flaps: large numbers of UFOs visible in a short period of time. This is the more exciting type of event as various sized and shaped UFOs can congregate into one area and formations are usually observed.

Indicators of UFO activity:

* Fast and unidentifiable objects moving across the sky * Flashing lights, either stationary or moving slowly, most commonly seen at high altitudes * Probing objects are very bright lights that can flare up then face down before disappearing over a short distance * Strobing objects can move at high rates of speed while lights are strobing constantly, sometimes at different rates

UFO hunters are very much aware that UFOs can appear at any given moment in time and at any location, therefore it becomes critical to increase the chances of successfully sighting UFOs by relocating to what are considered flap areas that can include the following areas:

* Nevada Highway 375, in the proximity of Rachel, Nevada * Sedona, Arizona * Midway, New Mexico, where the Roswell Rods were first observed * Marfa, Texas, famous for its Marfa Lights that have been reported for almost a century

Patience and persistence are definitely virtues for UFO hunters as UFOs never announce themselves prior to demonstration of their performance. Safety is paramount when witnessing an actual UFO sighting, as is staying calm to accurately record the event in its aftermath.

UFO activity tends to peak during certain time periods such as the 1950s, the 1970s and finally the 1990s. The 2010s seem to be destined to become a busy decade for UFO hunters. Will you be the one that proves ufos are real?

Phoenix Lights

Phoenix Lights

Phoenix Lights

On a clear spring evening on the 13th of March 1997 an incident in the sky over the American states of Arizona and Nevada, and the Mexican state of Sonora, gave rise to the phenomenon known as the ‘Phoenix Lights’ or ‘Lights over Phoenix’.  There was a lot of interest in the night sky that evening because Comet Hale-Bopp was expected to be visible to the naked eye.

However, star gazers witnessed a much more unusual event, a series of strange lights and unexplained shapes appeared in the clear evening sky.  From between 19:30 and 22:30 MST hundreds of reports were made to Police and Luke Air Force Base, describing unusual night illuminations across a 300 mile stretch between the Nevada state line, through to Phoenix and to the edge of Tucson.

The incident had two distinct events; a series of stationary lights were reported in the Phoenix area, as well as a large triangular light formation that moved across the sky.  The moving lights were described in various colors from bright red-orange, to amber, yellow and white.  They were arranged in a boomerang or V formation.  These lights were reported to move in unison, as if they were connected, and there appeared to be a solid structure encasing the lights because the immediate sky surrounding the object was blacked out.  Stationary lights were also reported to ‘hover’ for several hours before vanishing.  However, air-traffic controllers didn’t register any of the strange objects on their radar.  On February 6th 2007, a second incident of these strange lights was reported and on April 21, 2008 a third similar event was reported, all within the same geographical location.

Unfortunately documented photographic evidence of the first appearance of the Phoenix Lights is limited to a few images.  However, during the second incident in 2007, numerous still photographs and video images were collected.  These images clear show some form of craft moving across the night sky.

The Phoenix Lights have generated a range of conflicting explanations.  The V shaped formation has been explained as airplane lights.  Proponents argue that the lights observed on video tapes do not move as a single object, but are instead separate entities, often viewed as one due to illusory contours that force the human eye to view unconnected lines or dots as a single shape.  However, there were no known military or civilian aircraft formations flying in that location during the times the crafts were viewed.  The hovering stationary lights have been explained by American Air Force officials as slow-falling, long burning flares dropped during a series of training exercises at the Luke Air Force Base.  However, this explanation is also flawed as the timing of the fly-overs and subsequent flare drops doesn’t explain the earlier sightings, some of which occurred during daylight.

What also makes the Phoenix Lights incident bizarre was the lack of response from government officials.  Many citizens were alarmed by the events and demanded some type of immediate explanation.  However, it was only three months later following significant public pressure that a full investigation was announced.  Despite this investigation, there still lacks an adequate explanation that can fully account for the all the events associated with the Phoenix Lights.  Whether it was a result of some type of secret military training exercise or extraterrestrial visitors remains a mystery. Are ufos real, you decide.

All throughout history UFOs have been reported, sure, many have turned out to be of natural causes such comets, meteors, different natural phenomenon’s.

However, even though most sightings can be explained, there is a small percentage that remains unexplained. It is that small percentage that keeps people intrigued with the phenomenon and asking the question is there life out there and it is visiting us on a regular basis.

Now technically the term UFO refers to any unidentified flying object. However, in today’s society UFOs, thanks to the movies and the mass media typically means an alien spacecraft to the general public.
